A Refined Antique 18ct White Gold & Platinum Natural Sapphire & Pearl Cluster Ring

Featuring a natural round mixed-cut sapphire, surrounded by six natural pearls in a classic daisy (flower) cluster design.

Dating approximately to the late Victorian to Edwardian period, circa 1890–1915.

The ring has been professionally polished, is ready to wear, and will be presented in a brand new ring box. A secure, well-balanced ring with a comfortable shank, ideal as a dress ring, right-hand ring, or a timeless antique engagement-style ring.

Setting & Design

The central sapphire is claw-set within a platinum-topped cluster.

Surrounding the sapphire are six individually claw-set natural pearls, arranged in a traditional daisy / flower formation.

The cluster setting measures approximately 12mm and features a raised cluster head with an open gallery beneath.

There is slight variation in claw size and pearl seating, confirming handmade construction. The symmetry is intentional but subtly organic.

Hallmarks

Stamped “18ct & Plat” to the interior of the shank. This marking is characteristic of early platinum use.

The ring has also been professionally tested to confirm solid 18ct gold with platinum settings.

Centre Stone

Round mixed-cut blue sapphire (natural corundum)
Sapphire size: Approximately 4.0 mm
Colour: Rich royal to cornflower blue
Setting: Platinum multi-claw setting with fine hand-cut claws

Surrounding Stones

Six natural seed pearls (likely saltwater pearls, consistent with the age period)
Pearl size: Approximately 3.7–3.8 mm each
Colour: Subtle natural variation from cream to soft ivory and silvery tones
Lustre: Soft and satiny

Each pearl has been individually claw-set in platinum, with crown-style settings and open-backed cups. Hand-cut claw variation is visible.

Shank

Material: Solid 18ct gold
Profile: Slim, gently tapered antique shank

Minor surface marks may be visible under magnification, consistent with age. The pearls show gentle natural variation in shape and surface, typical of natural saltwater pearls.

Condition

The ring is in a very good antique condition. Considering its age, this piece has been well cared for over time.
