Hallmarked with the late Queen Victoria's head and with the date letter H circa 1883. The assay stamp is a Leopard for London and a crown.
The hallmarks are crisp and clear.
The ring is in an excellent condition, considering it's age. The band is still nice and thick and the 22ct gold is a rich buttery yellow.
Normally mourning rings have a glass case covering the hair, however this one does not. It was possibly broken down the line, or it could have purposely been made like this.
A fascinating piece of history.
We would not recommend wearing this ring very often due to the hair being exposed, it is more of a keepsake piece.
